Build Update - Gypsy Top

Post by DJ Parker »

Hello All,

A quick note to solicit discussion: Ok, I've got the builds down to two at a time for now since I had two sets of tops. So here is the L-00 size and a Gypsy Oval. I would really like some conversation with you Gypsy builders out there. I'm using Michael Collins' book and dvd's and I think they're great but I need some guidance from someone who may have had the same issues that I'm facing. Nothing horrible, just need to get a better handle on my top form and was hoping that others can share advice and pictures. The Gypsy has a top that is somewhat arched and that is tricky, especially when it comes to joining them. I am using a 'pliage' per instruction. Anyway, here's a couple of pics of progress.

Thank you,

DJ

I build gypsy guitars and would be glad to share ideas. You'll find my blog if you search on my name and "guitar".
