Receivers and power amps have gotten scarce at thrift stores, in my experience. Lots of TV's, computers, speakers, CD and DVD players though.
I got one of these for my wife's sewing room recently: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B06XD9MY6P/ ... B06XHVQNNZ
Sound is amazingly good (volume and frequency) for its minuscule size, inputs include bluetooth, USB, line 3.5mm, powered by USB and has rechargeable battery. I ripped a bunch of her CD's and put them on flash drives for hours of music.
I also ordered one of these: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00 ... UTF8&psc=1 which includes an FM radio (hasn't arrived yet from Hong Kong) so can't say how adequate it might be, but it was only $7 when I ordered it..

Maybe I can't fix it, but I can fix it so no one can fix it

I bought a Marantz 1501 yesterday, and then returned it.
After thinking for a while, I'm pretty happy with a good radio.
I'll just use my radio...maybe get another if I feel too lazy to move it from place to place.
