Bushings for Grover Hercules banjo tuners

Post by Ken Spiers »

I am trying to find 2 bushings/ferrules for the string posts on some Grover "Hercules" banjo tuners. The tuners are on a 1926 TB-4 Mastertone. These bushings look like those on the more common Grover two-tab tuners, but the ID is larger to accomodate a string post larger than 1/4".

These bushings have an ID of about .295", an OD of about .330", and the diameter of the top cap is about .475". Please contact me with a price if you have two.

Might be easier to get 4 matching bushings. Trying to match hardware from the 20s is sketchy at best.

Find a local machine shop, Should take a few minutes to machine a couple of new ones. Many years ago my uncles ran a machine shop, I remember people walking with small one time parts. They liked those kind of jobs. What is the material? Brass would be easy, if they are plated then that could be done also. Post a picture I'll see if I can do something.
