Post by Greg Martin »

Id like to know if any of you have built a bridge like D Aquisto's Accutone bridge . It is integrating. Anyone have dimensions or pictures of their bridges? What rough size ebony do you start with what is the taper of the stick etc??? thanks

I've only ever made one. It was ok .... kind of a pain to adjust.
I won't get into dimensions ... you can figure that out. My suggestion is to start with the slot in the base (and milling stock for upper bits to fit the slot). Layout, cut & smooth the wedge surfaces, then shape everything.

Dave, that's a pretty slick job on the bridge. I'm curious as to what the structure of your tailpiece is. Do you have reinforcements in there or any pictures of how you make that that you'd not mind sharing?

It seems like just a little while ago I came across a really good drawing of this bridge, with measurements and everything, but I can't remember where. That's not very helpful, but it's out there.
