HH Strat wiring mod

So I finally wired the strat with this mod. It seems to work but when I go through the switches and tap pole pieces some coils are making clicks when they should be off. For example the neck pick up is always on. However it does change volume of the clicks with movement of the 4 way. I looked for switch terminals shortong out. Do I have a bad switch? Or maybe a grounding problem? I have a multimeter, what should I do to test it?

Just an update. Turns out the pickguard was stopping the switch from making contact in one of the last positions. I think the volume thing was due to switching between series and paralell.
