Lap steel test (feedback welcome)

Hi all,

I have been learning guitar building for a while now, I have built a couple of guitars with a professional's luthier help, and I am currently building an electric lap steel at home, mainly as an exercise. A lap steel is way easier than a guitar, so I thought it would be good as my first build alone.

At the moment the instrument is finished (apart from the finish ) , so I installed the electronics provisionally just to test the sound. I thought it would be good if anyone could give me an honest feedback... here is a small recording I made. The sound is quite close to the original. No effects added, only the reverb from the amp. The pickup is an old Telecaster pickup that I fixed and the amp is a Fender Blues Deluxe.

Any opinions would be welcome!

Sounds like you got it. They are fun and easy to make, and easy to make sound good.
