Show And Tell- My South Indian Veena

If it's not a guitar or a bass guitar discussion, and it's got strings, put it here.

Show And Tell- My South Indian Veena

Postby Dennis Weaver » Fri Dec 26, 2014 1:39 am

I didn't make it. I bought it at a music store which was going out of business and said "name a price" for whatever you saw and they considered it or offered up a price if you asked. He said 100 dollars so I bought it.

I seen on a page in MIMF links about Sitar stuff this description-

See my South Indian Veena-

Shown at 46:08 and at 1:01:44 on the video timeline bar.

I learned from the description page that the sound isn't so much as to come out of the tin bell shaped thing near the peg head but that that is what sits on the floor. I do have books from "South Asia Books" I bought years ago which describe Indian instruments.

I still have this instrument in my bedroom closet. It is a real piece of art!
