As what Barry Daniels wrote, plus acoustic bridge removal(being able to do it cleanly, with minimal or no damage to the spruce top). That, IME, is one of the most challenging repairs.

Hi Roger, a worthwhile project! It will be quite a bit of work, but these old NY Epis are very fine instruments(I own five, at the moment), a '34, '36' '43, '47, and a '41 project. Two needed extensive repairs(you can see photos/descriptions of the guitars at my facebook page, David Richard Luthier....
