Hey folks, how are you? On your own builds, specially acoustics, how much do you put in the planning the species of wood you will use, sound wise? How much % of the guitar tone you think comes from the back and how much do you stress picking the species? And soundboard, do you separate the subspecie...

Hello! I've built a guitar to a friend 10 years ago and he told me the neck twisted a bit because of humidity where he lived for a time. I was routing to emove the fretboard and level, then add a new fretboard and dang happened. I did something that the router made a slightly deeper path on the treb...

Double X Bracings
Hello! I didn't find a topic about the Double X and started this one. I didn't find any video on youtube comparing a traditional X and a double X guitars, the only one I found was a top still rough with some tap tuning on them (on these particular, I found the pitch of the double X lower). How can o...

Hi! We have some guitar painters herein Brazil, very little numbers and all of them I know works only with electric, they don't know about the thickness importance on acoustics. The acoustic luthiers I know just paint the guitar themselves and very rarely get commission from other luthiers, I've tal...

Re: The millionth same quest about wood
๐๐ผ thanks for the insight, I agree and understand better now The idea is L00 size archtop, Adirondack top, 24.5" scale length. The doubt is between Mahogany or any kind of Rosewood on the back/side. But the fear is to be too trebley with Rosewood, hence the question about have a wood with the w...

The millionth same quest about wood
Hello! The "common sense" about wood says Rosewood has more bass and treble than mahogany, but less mids and a more prominent treble... Is there any wood tht have bass and middle as both combined but a bit tamed treble? Sometimes I think steel strings have too much bite and nylon too few.....

Re: Pointy guitars
No, sorry I didn't explain correctly.
This jack drilling goes straight to the pickup cavity and then to the control cavity or it's drilled someway direct to the countrol cavity?
I've no idea how they make the wires get there

Does anybody know what is the path the channel of this jack makes till the control box?
And how they do it?
