A handy little saw can be made from a half moon blade, a scrap of wood, a few neodymium magnets, and a couple of brads. The magnets are mounted into a wooden handle and allow the blade to be flipped over for left or right handed flush cutting. The brads keep the blade from sliding on the magnets and are cut and filed flush with the thickness of the blade. the brads also allow the blade to be rotated so a different portion of the blade can be used for cutting.

The half moon shape of the sawblade is similar to what some veneer saws use.

Good idea. I’ll have to make one of those myself, thank you.

neat, could be useful for trimming brace ends too.

I see one of these in my future.

For brace ends and the slots for back reinforcement strips, I learned a trick that might be obvious but I had no idea. Japanese saws have a the tip cut at a slight angle and is the same height of the last tooth. If you tilt the saw up to that angle, you can cut the brace and it will stop at the level of the plate without cutting. It take a bit of practice.

If you "stone" a portion of the blade to match the kerf required for your fret wire you can also use it for cleaning out fret slots for re-freting.
