Wide range numbucker bobbins

Post by Andrew McSpadden »

Has anyone ever had a real Wide Range apart on their bench and taken measurements of the bobbins? I know the reissues just use regular sized HB bobbins and fill the space under the cover with ?? insulation or something. Thanks in advance!

I don’t think the CuNiFe reissues are just standard humbucker sized bobbins. I have a set and the pole pieces don’t line up with a standard HB bobbin. Unfortunately I have no plans to disassemble either of them. I have a Squire WR out of a tele deluxe that I’ll pull the cover off of and post a photo (given I can figure that part out).
