Ken Parker, of Parker archtops

Post by Jarno Verhoeven »

He has an excellent series of youtube videos on every aspect of his, quite different than others, archtops, but apparently he is also quite ill:

He also did a video with an apprentice, so I suppose these instruments will continue to be made.

Yes, Ken Parker was a great innovator and also very generous in sharing his ideas and experience. There is a lot to learn from that.

I met Ken in 2022 at the Fretboard Summit. We had a very nice and brief conversation about tools. He was as nice and knowledgeable as everyone says he was. I also got to hold the original prototype of the Parker Fly. That was cool.

I hope he is resting in peace somewhere. He will be missed.
