I made this from a kit and hand-painted it. Unfortunately, the neck came apart from the body. It didn't have any pins or dowels, just glued on, and I didn't know any better at the time. It sat broken for a couple of years. So, the other day I found her and I added two dowels and glued it back together. She's re-strung now. Hoping it holds together this time.

Pics don't do this justice, she sparkles from the iridescent paint!

Re: Paisley Ukulele
The pattern also reminds me of Scandinavian rosemåling as much as paisley.
I’m so used to ornate instruments being full of inlay and hardware that it takes a little mindset adjustment. Painting on the soundboard isn’t new certainly, but resides in a different space in my mind. I like it. I might have to try it.

Paisley was just what came to my mind as the closest thing to call it. Painting (on canvas or watercolors) is one of my greatest pastimes, so I guess it naturally bled into my instruments.

Looks great. Not sure what went wrong for you but glued butt joints on ukuleles are pretty common with some pretty big builders.

Love the paint job! Ukes are fun little instruments to build and play- an instrument that doesn't have to be taken "seriously", but can be.

Looks great Teresa. Ukuleles punch way above their weight!
