I've got a one-piece African Blackwood bridge that weighs in at 36 grams.

Is this heavy?

It is on the heavy side. Steel string bridges are usually between 20-30 g. But this all depends on you bridge layout/model.
I have made bridges Martin style with ABB which were at 31 g.
ABB is heavy by nature and the bridges will be on the heavy side.
Try to make it a bit slimmer, if possible remove wood from the back, wings, etc..

Mine is a floating bridge. Is that what you're referring to, or are you talking about a fixed bridge?

Mine were fixed bridges on acoustic. I do not know much about archtop

So I went a found a spare archtop bridge, typical two piece with adjusting screws, rosewood, and it weighs 34.4 grams. It is actually smaller than I currently make as far as the base goes. So I think you are in the ball park.
