Veneer source for 335 plates

Post by Bob Francis »

I am interested in building an EB2 style bass 335 body) and can't locate veneer for the top and back plates.
My thoughts were maple on the outsides of the laminate and whatever I can get my hands on for the center ply.
Any leads will be really appreciated.

Hi Bob,
I may have some excess curly maple veneer you might be able to use. I tried PMing you but I don't know if I did it right or if it got through. Let me know what sizes you need.

Hi Clay,
It did get through. I would like to make 2 fronts and 2 backs.
Finished size is 18" at lower bout and about 22" top to bottom.
Also interested in a source for 1/10" popar or basswood etc for center core.

A great veneer supplier is just outside of Denver, B & B Rare Woods: http://www.wood-veneers.com/index1.htm
Is this the type of stuff you're looking for?
