Gibson LG-0 bridge

If you have a string instrument of any kind that needs fixing, a mistake you made in building a new instrument that you need to "disappear," or a question about the ethics of altering an older instrument, ask here. Please note that it will be much easier for us to help you decide on the best repair method if you post some pictures of the problem.

You did a great job shaping those bridges, Paul. Freehand or belt sander?

Thanks Barry. I use a spindle sander with a fence and clamped in place stops, a combination disc with 1" X 42" belt sander and hand tools. Replacements like these are always one offs, I don't have or use any special jigs, so it is mostly freehand work.

Here it is. I finished it and the customer is very happy with their new BRW bridge, courtesy of our very own Barry Daniels. Thanks again for the blank, Barry!

I made the bridge oversized to completely cover the old footprint and then routed the saddle slot after it was glued on.
