1940s Regal 24.25" parlor - made of ...?

1940s Regal 24.25" parlor - made of ...?

I assumed this would be birch. Certainly the sides appear to be. But the customer was thinking cedar top based on wear on edge. Whatever it is, it has a fairly tight grain and is quartered. Could it be mahogany? Lots of mahogany guitars during the war when spruce was in short supply.

Any information would be great.

Definitely not mahogany. Perhaps fir?
