I recently acquired a vintage TeleStar guitar neck.
It has what looks like the original tuners, and needs some fretwork done.
It's made from some kind of "spectra-lam" laminated material, and has a zero-fret fretboard.
It is a "C" shaped neck, and has the truss rod adjustment in the base, not the head stock.
I haven't found anything online so far about this guitar.
What period (late 50's, 60's, maybe early 70's)?
What body style/shape did it have?
What electronics (if any) did it have?
Is it even worth messing with?
I would be willing to build a body for this neck, and would like to try making it similar to the original if possible.
I'm afraid a full restoration might be out of the question for me, as the parts might be as difficult or harder to find than the info.

Re: looking for Info about a TeleStar Guitar
It's a japanese neck, made in the 60's. The neck is made of many layers of wood all glued together and the neck made with the layers vertical. It's a very strongly made neck and likely will not warp. I have never seen one of these warp. That company made lots of styles of neck this way, who knows what the body looked like! They were low-end instruments.

Thanks for the info Mark. I wasn't sure if it wasn't something rare or simply unremarkable.
Sounds like a good candidate for a cigar box build now.

Just put "Telestar acoustic guitar" into Google and you will get dozens and dozens of hits and pictures of them. The TeleStar brand was sold in the 60s and 70s, closing down in the early 80s.

Didn't pay enough attention to the pictures. Probably is electric, but there is a zillion pictures of those online as well.
