Nice looking and sounding lute.
Re: 6 course renaissance lute
Lovely! Do you hand cut/carve the rosette? What do you use as a backing ? Bob

Thanks!Clay Schaeffer wrote:Nice looking and sounding lute.
Thanks! Yes I carve all my rosettes by hand with skalpels. I use a cutting mat underneath.Bob Orr wrote:Lovely! Do you hand cut/carve the rosette? What do you use as a backing ? Bob

Re: 6 course renaissance lute
The rosette looks like the same pattern I used on my 11 course lute. Back then it took me a full 2 days to do it. I would not have the patience any more.
Nice work.
Nice work.

Wow, 2 days! This took me just over 2 hours but spread over 2 days. I only do an hour at a time then come back to it, as I've heard staring at it too long can be bad on the eyes (I say whilst staring at computers too much! )Simon Magennis wrote:The rosette looks like the same pattern I used on my 11 course lute.
