Here's my latest guitar i finished. It's been sitting around for a while and i finally got around to putting everything together. I got the idea for the shape from a picture of a batwing style guitar; this is my take on the design.
Body: Basswood
Neck: 24 fret maple / rosewood fingerboard
Pickups: Duncan Designed HB-102 / Vol, Tone, Toggle
Bridge: Black Hardtail string through
Tuners: Black Goth w closed backs
For the finish I had some red and green minwax colorstain laying around. I mixed them together til i got a concoction of color that I was happy with. It's sort of a midnight purpleish blue. I put tru-oil over that. The Basswood didn't take the stain overly well as it is a little blotchy but it's very sutle and kind of gives the look of a natural bat wing. I didn't plan it that way but I'm happy with the results.
I put some strings on it and did a quick set up. I'll have to fine tune everything but as is right now is pretty good. It has good action, plays fast & is pretty well balanced.
Here's a pic.
