Just completed this guitar.

The details...OO sized body is African ebony. Top is torrified Engelmann spruce with wonderful bear claw figure. The neck is mahogany. Fretboard and bridge are Indian ebony. Body, fretboard, and head are bound with curly maple. Scale length is 24.75” and it’s fitted with Schertler open back tuners and a JJB-ELECTRONICS Prestige 330 pickup. Sound is nicely balanced with somewhat surprisingly good bas response for a smaller bodied guitar. Enjoy the photos.

It looks great! How was it bending the ebony?

Thanks Brian.

I was a bit scared when I went to bend it as I’d heard many stories of ebony breaking. Thinned the sides to around .075-.080, lightly misted with water, wrapped in parchment paper and aluminum foil, sandwiched with spring steel slats and heating blanket, then took it very slow in the bender while holding my breath. To my relief, it bent without any breaks.

Correction, sides were closer to .070. Reinforced the waist on the inside for added strength/stiffness.
