Fret Wire Width
My customers over the years have not had much preference in their fret width, only the height. Any thoughts on pros and cons or uses of different widths of fretwire for different styles, feel, sound? Maybe a separate fretting section on the forum? TIA

Re: Fret Wire Width
Hey Andrew. First off, what has been the feedback from your customers? What do they tend to prefer?

Re: Fret Wire Width
They either want the same they have on one of their own guitars (or the same as the original wire if I am doing a refret) or want "jumbo" wire. They never talk about the width.
I was just wondering if there were any advantage/situations where width independent of height made a difference to any players or builders out there. Always trying to expand my knowledge base.
Thanks!

Re: Fret Wire Width
About the only thing you can say about wide fretwire is that it looks wider.
