So here it is, still in progress. I still have a long way to go.
Back and sides are Bocote while the top is Sitka spruce.

Nathan, I love that BS wood. That is going to look great. Charlie, this is from my iPhone in case that's of interest. I'm trying to see if I can post a pic with my response...not sure. I selected "quick reply."

That "online" notice is very nice too Charlie. Found the photo upload option. It seems to be inactive. I'll try on my laptop.

This is nice, Nathan.

Your post, though, brings up a question for Charlie: these are progress shots. In the "old country," incomplete instrument documentation was not allowed, since all the photos and such used too much juice. Since a discussion can float around on this style of forum for a lot longer, and folks can return and update, will this be allowed now?

Thanks for bringing that up Jason. The live forum will follow the "old country" rules, at least at the start. Since we're still in test mode (remember, most if not all posts will be deleted when we go live), we will let them stand.

OK, I'm back on my laptop finally to try posting. I was not able to select "browse" on my iPhone but I could post text with no problem and see images already posted. Just thought I would post a pic of my first build, finished a little over a year ago. This is a collage of images actually. Hope to start #2 this winter, as soon as I heal from shoulder surgery. Getting close.

Cool, the pics look good too! Did you use a radius when you glued up the top and back? I didn't see a radius dish in the go-bar deck. You really should put the dome in the top and back.

No arches or domes on the braces. The top will have 2º angle from the waist to the neck same for the back. I should've arched the back but I'll see what happens to it in time. The struts are pretty stout.

Should I give a wash coat of shellac to the inside of the guitar and to the underside of the top?

No.

Traditionally, and currently the insides of most guitars are not finished.

Some have used finish. One consideration that it would be a bad thing to do, is it would interfere with repairs later interfering with glue.
