Protecting Acrylic Art

Post by Dave Gentner »

I've been asked to spray a protective coating over some acrylic artwork on a strat. Any suggestions as to what I should use? I normally shoot nitro.

You can buy Rust-Oleum clear gloss acrylic lacquer in a spray can from Home Depot or Walmart for $11 or pay $15.50 to Amazon and combine it with something else to get "Free" shipping. When Amazon can't gouge the manufacturer they just up the price to the consumer to cover the "free" shipping.
The specs say you can machine or hand buff the lacquer for additional gloss.
As always- test on scrap for compatibility and if it gives the look you want.
