Fish glue

Post by Matt Atkinson »

So I got some fish glue a few months ago and like it a lot. It's a little slow but that's great for me. I used it about a week ago and all was fine but last night I tried to use some and it was like slooow jelly. The thermostat in my shop is set at 45 deg. when I'm not in there just so nothing freezes. It hasn't been very cold yet outside, maybe 28 deg. a couple nights and my space is insulated. I haven't tried warming it up yet which I will do tonight but wondering if it's no good? I can't possibly use the amount I bought in a year and it's only 6 months old.

I'm assuming that you've warmed up your fish glue and that it's working ok now?

From what I understand, fish glue has a much longer shelf life than liquid hide glue, though many (including me) will store it in the refrigerator when not being used for extended periods.
