Ibanez Weeping WD7 Demon

Post by Chuck Raudonis »

Does anyone have one of these that can take the back off and take a couple of close-up pictures of the configuration of the spring lock mechanism that holds the battery/on-off switch door locked down? Something popped out on mine and I had three pieces rattling around inside when I opened it. The silver metal latch mechanism, the little square black button and a spring. I'll be damned if I can figure out how it all goes back together. Pictures would be a GREAT help but they would have to be very close up to see the detail.

Thanks!

I found this photo of the batt compartment door open via google but probably not enough detail.

Thank you! I actually just figured it out today reading blogs. Someone made the comment that it is easy to lose the spring when the back is taken off. That tipped me off that this is a normal occurrence. That triggered the revelation that there really isn't anything to hold it in place and sure enough, the BACK holds it in place. When you take the back off, the spring is loose as it is wedged in against the back. Terrible design, but it looks like it's fixed.

Thanks for the help.

Saw pics of a custom back plate made so the battery could be changed without opening the back plate guy made it himself and tiny magnets hold it clsed. if I remember where and find the link I will post it
I have a lot of experience on how "not" to do things.
