Anybody use a Router sled for as a plane? I have some wood that I need to laminate and joint, but it's fairly rough right now and want to know what to use for the rails and what router bit to use. Would it be better to just use my 9 inch block plane?

Will there be any issues with having the same pickup for regular and bass registers? What are the "typical" stats on a bass pickup and a regular guitar pickup, and what are the compromises made when trying to mesh one into the other? Most of the multi-scale instruments that I've seen that ...

My hope is that perhaps this build will create a bit of a market for it. I'm not sure how common this stuff is outside of the mountain west, but I love the figure. I may use some green streaked poplar for the neck as well...still brewing on that one.

To really trouble-shoot a guitar repair or a new build you probably just need something simple (perhaps with multiple impedance inputs for different pickups), don't need much power, and quite circuitry so you can pickup unwanted hums. Since you build basses as well, you probably would be better off ...

Looks like this is a passive system that could easily be routed through some on-board tone and volume controls.

I'll be working in similar parameters soon. I was hopping to integrate standard electric guitar style pots for volume and tone in my build (as opposed to sliders) as well.
