Re: “Keep me logged in”

Bob, any chance you have "private browsing" turned on in those browsers? I think that interferes with the cookie settings (e.g., "keep me logged in").

Re: Does the library search work for you?

Some of the search pages never got updated from http to https (my bad). I've just updated them now (be sure to do a refresh in your browser), so let me know if that helps (or hurts!).

Re: Does the library search work for you?

Hey Randy, I found this suggestion on the web, maybe you can try it and let me know.

Go to "Internet Options" and then to "Content" and click on "Clear SSL state".

Does the library search work for you?

Hi all, I've had a couple people say that the library search doesn't work ("waiting on mimf"). If you could check it out and let me know if it works for you, I'd appreciate it. It is located here: https://www.mimf.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=18277#p18277 If it does not work, please let me kn...

We're back!

Hi all,
Sorry about all the problems lately. We doubled the working memory on our server last Saturday and somehow that broke everybody's ability to log in. I think that's been fixed now and hope you all notice better performance for the website.

Sorry about that, the donate button moved to the top and is no longer yellow! Look for the "PP Donations" next to "Quick links", right below our banner.

Re: Inspection Camera

I bought a Depstech wireless endoscope ($36 from Amazon). It's fine (I don't have any experience with others). The wireless connection to your cellphone uses wifi so you lose any wifi connection while you're using it.

Re: “Keep me logged in”

We made some changes to the cookie settings and session length settings on Saturday to try to fix this (and be sure to check the "remember me" box when you log in. Let me know if you still see the problem.

Re: Building my 3rd Hurdy Gurdy

You can see my build here: https://www.mimf.com//phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1829

I used the GAL plan. I might also add that adding a strap really makes it easier to play.

I don't have a photo of the neck by itself, but here are a few of the rough in shots.

Re: Repairing a viol neck-to-pegbox break

It's about done, I have to rub out the finish and tie the frets on. Then take it over to my teacher this weekend and get her assessment of it. The graft isn't horrible but not as invisible as I had hoped.

Re: Repairing a viol neck-to-pegbox break

Thanks Fred, if I totally screw it up, I'll contact you. At this point, I have the pegbox attached to the new (mostly carved) neck and am carving out the part of the graft in the pegbox.

Re: Dulcimer top and fingerboard/soundboard

The viol I'm working on had Pegheds installed. They worked well but were hard to remove without damage. They have a fine thread (left or right) on the barrel.

Re: Repairing a viol neck-to-pegbox break

It was not a clean break and I cannot get a good mechanical fit, so I will try a neck graft (i.e., make a new neck and splice the old pegbox on to it) as Clay and others have suggested. I got the fingerboard off pretty cleanly so I hope to reuse that. The next question was the body/neck joint. Yes, ...
