I am only guessing on this guitar that I used 15' radius on top because of the problem I incurred. Last week I caught myself doing it on a current build. This is the 1st of 3 Parlors I am making.

On #3 I know I did it. From comments I understand it will not encounter any other oblivious problems.

Looks like I have made this mistake 1- or maybe two times. I see it can mess up the neck angle and mating with bridge and saddle. If I work this out what else should I look out for down the road?

I have used CA glue a lot when epox is not handy. Heard it works fine. Tell me its true!! Fresh planned wood is often hard to provide.

I made a 10"x5" drum for 40grit paper. took osage orange down to about 1/8-3/32". Glued it up and having problems getting scratches out. Paper over laped in one place and gouged scratches.


Will switch to 80 grit at 1/8" + next time.

Well, at least I don't think I offended any group. Potty humor is still safe. Have two young grandkids and live with it daily. There is no stopping it and we will just have to adjust.


Now about oils; how do you choose one?

I have turned bowls from it but they usually crack. Its very unstable because usually you are working with the base which has the graft and lots of knots.

Bearings do wear out but are not that difficult to change. I installed these in 2013 when I restored this lathe. I do think the live center is a weak link.
