Andy, nice work as always!

Jason, there's a camp for everything! My daughter and I attend bagpipe camp 3 years running a few years back. We had a blast and a great thing to do with your children!

Re: Crown? Clearance? Baritone uke

Ron, normally as Mike suggests you don't need to radius, but I have done it on a tenor and it worked nicely. It of course is a departure from a classical guitar as well as that would always be flat. Regarding the fret wire, although I haven't built a baritone, I've built quite a few tenors and the s...

Re: Cutting F holes in existing guitar?

Out of curiosity why do you want to cut holes in it? And if it is a Country Gentleman you'd really ruin the guitar IMHO.

Re: Ukulele question -

Mike, if you have a hankering to experiment you could consider stripping off all the finish, letting it thoroughly dry and sanding the body heavily to try to thin it down. Of course you hopefully have another uke to play in the meantime! After it is completely sanded, through all of the grits up to ...

Re: Ukulele Headstock Logos

Jason, you're right! :-)

Thanks for the compliment, perhaps I ought to start thinking of it as art. Never really thought of myself as an artist. Who'da thunk? One of these days I probably should create a logo. Thinking it will be the one labeled: Unsui in Japanese kanji above.

Re: Ukulele Headstock Logos

Neal, you have a good sense of design. Do you have training in this area? Very nice. Thank you Michael. No training in design at all. I took (here on MIMF) the 2 inlay classes offered several years ago, and that certainly helped somewhat. I just kind of jump in and try things and so far it has work...

Re: Building the Hofner "Beatle Bass"

Thanks for posting this. Love this video, had watched it 3 times before finding this thread, so I just watched it again! It is rather hard to believe they still do all that fretboard work by hand. Makes me wonder if it is because they're building the '63 vintage replicas?

Re: Carved Rosette backing

What about linen? Strips of linen (or similar this material) are frequently used to strengthen the seams in bowl-back instruments. Soak the linen in hide glue and adhere to the back of the spruce.

David, great build. Very interesting. I also bought a copy of Kyle's book which I've enjoyed reading, although I'm not sure I'd ever build one. Congrats to you. I hope your daughter's friend enjoys it.

Thanks Steve. I really love the inlay part of this hobby. I'm currently working on a couple of restoration projects that will both require new headstock inlays.
