Re: Patrick DeGreve's travel guitar

At this point I fine tune the fit, being carful to check the neck angles, both right to left, and back and forth, making sure the action will be right.

Re: Patrick DeGreve's travel guitar

After gluing up the neck heel, I route the dovetail tenon using another jig from plywood. I try to get a close fit but leave it a little too large so I can fine tune it to fit.

Re: Patrick DeGreve's travel guitar

Hi Samuel, sorry it took so long to get back to you on the binding jig. I have been extra busy at work ( 2 board meetings, the Survivor final, the American Idol final, and two new pilots), I was able to work on my projects at night, and a little last weekend, but haven't posted anything this week. T...

Re: 3 PIECE SOUNDBOARD?

Hi Everett, I have used four pieces to make a soundboard twice before, and they sounded fine and have held up very well so far. I am making two travel guitars now for the reclaimed materials challenge from pine, and am using four pieces for the soundboards on them. The seams don't show up that much ...

Re: Patrick DeGreve's travel guitar

I am using rosewood bwb binding I bought in bulk on Ebay for both guitars. I like the contrast of the dark binding on the light woods. Here I have glued and taped on the bindings.

Re: Patrick DeGreve's travel guitar

I decided to add a JJB Electronics transducer pickup in the oak steel string travel guitar. I am not going to put a pickup in the nylon string guitar. I used their 2 transducer standard unit $19.95. I have used a few of their three transducer units and they worked fine. I am not going to install a p...
