I saw a thru neck build I think it was here but maybe not. but the guy pre drilled the wing for the hole to the control cavity and the hole for the bridge ground.

You can use a clear pick guard, then the wood shows thru.

Since you removing the fretboard anyway you might add 2 carbon fiber stiffening rods. I learned about them here from another poster, and while I have not used them yet in a neck. Did you remove all of that with the router bit? Or did you remove the bulk with a forstner bit.

Not a timely occurrence but while i have never done the back bow method I remember that it worked very well I think it was a stew mac repair video. I was impressed but, havin never done one myself all I can say is if I find the video I will post it.

Plus one on the tunomatic bridge can you use a jimmy clip or something simular to mute the strings after the bridge and after the nut? plus are you talking 70's classic rock distortion or high gain amp distortion? Because that type of gain magnifies all the bad stuff so that, what would not bother y...

As for a repair you could have gone to a spindle sander to smooth out the band saw marks (roughly marked in red and notched the end where it meets the neck square (marked in blue) and an oversized veneer cut from your scapes. then after the glue sets up go easy with hand sanding and blend it ti the ...

I had a friend who installed a 3rd pickup nearer the neck that sucked because it was way to boomy. he did not have any interest in putting one closer to the bridge because he had plenty of hi end. in the end he removed the 3rd pickup.
