Thank you.Rodger Knox wrote:Nice looking guitar.
Is that maple for the fretboard and bridge?
I didn't think anyone else was doing that on acoustics.

Re: Walnut soundboard?
Hi there;
I built a small bodied L1 style some time back that was all Walnut. I like it a lot. I nick named the walnut "California Koa". I also built an all walnut Weissenborn as well. Very happy with both.

Re: Martin X neck joint
Why not just re-glue all the pieces parts back together taking care to minimize seams showing and call it good? I've worked with quite a bit of hpl on countertops and always relied on contact cement and a J roller. CA maybe? The tear in the top looks like a candidate for a cleat inside. That, or tur...

Re: Thickness sander
I have a Royobi 16/32 that I purchased new years ago. Besides the overall PITA of changing paper, it has filled many trouble free bags on my dust collection. I believe the feed belt is about ready for replacement. Prior to that I had a shop made. The power feed proved to be a major benefit.

Frets.com is an excellent resource for Martin repairs.
This link from the sight:

Some of the restoration blogs could provide some help as well.

Re: Table saw won't start
Hi Dan; Couple other things that might be worth a try. Unplug the saw and (depending on the type of switch it has) take the cover plate off the switch and blow/clean any dust out. Also blow any dust out of the motor windings if there are cooling vents. My old sears TS has a funky old motor that dust...

Re: Does anyone know of a font similar to the Martin headstock font?
I recommend that you download Inkscape( http://inkscape.downloadasaurus.com/ ) and make your own. There is no way you will find anything that looks like the "CFM", the "&" or the "C" in Co. from the Martin headstock. Inkscape is a free vector graphics drawing progr...

Steven;
There was an article in the latest GAL pub where Alan Skipper modified a spade bit to allow it to cut conical shaped washers from maple for just such a repair. Might be a good candidate for your situation.

Re: Kantare guitars and the "Lens resonance system"
Did a patent search and came up with this:
http://www.google.com/patents?id=h5oRAA ... &q&f=false
There may be more connected to it but they did not show up in my search
