I just got the uke fret wire and in cross section unlike the normal T it's more like an L.
This means the crown of the fret will not be centred to the fret slot.
I can offset either toward or away from the nut,
coin toss or is there a correct direction to offset?

I'm fairly certain this is one of several critical dimensions.

My favorite aspect of guitars is the female influence on the shape when viewed from the front or rear, and your convergence of the bevels in a beautiful curve when viewed from the sides takes this a step further.
