Re: Mini tuners

I use minis because they are smaller. Don’t have to make the head so big. Stew Mac only sells 3+3’s and I don’t want to use A style mando tuners either.

Re: Mini tuners

Thanks. I know about them. Hoping for something faster. Guess I’ll have to wait awhile.

Mini tuners

Anyone out there know of a source for mini tuners? I need 4R and 4R for a octave mando and most places only sell 3+3. I used to use LMII but now they are gone. Would prefer Gotoh. Thanks.

fretboard dots

I am looking for a posting or discussion about position of dots of fretboards. I ask because I made a banjo for my partner and mistakenly put a dot on the 9th fret and discovered that banjos seem to have that dot on the 10th fret. Guitars seem to be at the 9th fret. Mandolins seem to have it at the ...

mini tuners

Am looking for a supplier of Mini tuners (Schaller or somebody) that will sell 4+4. Want them for octave mandolin. Everyone just seems to sell 3+3. Someone in Hawaii sold me a set of 4+4 years ago but can't remember his name.??

Re: Brite-Tone water base lacquer

I have begun using it and so far have sprayed a couple of test boards and one instrument. I like it so far. clear and hard and polishes and buffs to a high gloss. No blue tone. It uses fewer coats than KTM9 or SV and is ready to level sand and buff in 4 days. I get mine here -- http://www.woodessen...

Re: Brite-Tone water base lacquer

I found this product while doing some online research into water base lacquers. It sounds good and wondered if anyone had used it.

Re: bouzouki pickup

I've looked at Baggs and there seems to be two, I think. The "Element Active System" and the "Ribbon Transducer" Any thoughts on these. They both seem like they might work. I don't like the 9 volt battery business but seems to be part of the deal. Could a person not use the 9 vol...

Re: bouzouki pickup

Thank you, Mark. I was unaware that there were pickup strips that were not attuned just to 6 guitar strings. Oh, and beautiful work by the way!

bouzouki pickup

Hi. Does anyone out there have any experience with a pickup for an Irish Bouzouki. I need one on one that I made and not sure what to use and don't really want to use a stick-on type.
Thanks
