On my tenors I am adding 2.7 mm to the 17 in scale length, which result in 434.5 mm nut to saddle distance

Re: Titebond liquid hide glue

I made my first guitar with it some 20 years ago.
Five years ago, the back braces started to unglue. I had to reglue with real HHG.
Do not use it for structural joints. Maybe binding, even there I am not sure I would use it again.

Re: Sound hole placement...

Huh... so bigger sound hole equals more bass, is that what I'm reading?
If you read Alan reply:
the larger the sound hole the higher the 'air' pitch will be
Higher pitch means less bass more treble

Re: high neck relief in an old Regal Parlor guitar

If you straighten the neck by planning the surface ( up to 1/16 or more), you will end up with a narrower neck, You have to consider that and possibly add a layer between the neck and fretboard.

Re: Downdraft table - suction?

Sometime, these fans are loud because the air passage is restricted. When running with a lot of "air room" they calm down. This is assuming this is not a bearing problem or vibration problem.

Re: Downdraft table - suction?

A fan from an old kitchen range hood or a bathroom fan would be relatively quiet and move a lot of air.

Re: bridge placement

If not too late, her is how I do it. I glue my bridge after finishing. My tenor has a scale length of 17 inches which is 431.8 mm I get correct intonnation by placing the saddle CENTER at 434.5 mm form the nut edge, which is 2.7 mm of compensation. I use a 1/8 ( 3mm) saddle so this give me +- 1.5 mm...

Please consider that linseed oil will turn quite yellow over time. Just like 'old oil paint' was doing in the past!

Leave to cure for 5 to 10 minutes, or until sticky. Rub off the excess with a clean cloth and leave to cure completely b...
