I use the harbor freight $15 guns. They do have a turbine kit as well. I've heard good things about the jamb gun, but I use the full size.

I spray 2k automotive, not shellac, but the consistency of the materials should be about the same.

I use harbor freight guns with automotive paints. I believe they're 1.4 tips. The larger gun goes on sale all the time for about $15. It's an air hog though. You need a decent size compressor.

No reason to buy an expensive gun until you have the skills to utulize a quality (expensive!) gun.

If you can stand the noise, and have a good sized compressor, a pneumatic ROS is fantastic! Its so easy to swing over curves because there is very little rotational mass like an electric. The difference is night and day. Though I've played with a pneumatic, I only own an electric.
