I just ordered ebonized Pear wood (black) from John Bogdanovich, same size and price than LMI but, hopefully better quality than Poplar. Shipping is less than $4. I couldn't see long sheets in woodcraft.

Hi there,

I have a Martin guitar with loose plastic bindings for repair. I know there is some cement for that use, but I'm afraid to damage the finish.
Any other options?

And the bindings are short now, so what is the solution, heat, new bindings?

Hi Manel, You may want to do some test pieces to see how well the waterborne lacquer adheres to the shellac. If it doesn't bind with it well it may show scratches even more. Plaster of Paris has been used for many kind of molds. I have seen people making molds using PP to make fiber glass part for cars. As well used for cast in arms legs etc. So it shouldn't shrink much IMO
