Got it off with a clothes iron. Used the grill cooking thermometer to set the temp to 250 F, left the iron on the fingerboard for two minutes. It was a hot rod truss rod. 12 1/4 in. Supposed to be 14 1/4. I've already glued the fingerboard on but haven't fretted it yet.

What are the consequences of using a truss rod designed for a 12 fret guitar in a 14 fret guitar? Not that I would know anybody who has done such a dumb thing. .

Correction: I used regular Titebond. I must be getting senile.

Additional info: The 1.5 mm shift on the bass side and .5mm shift on the treble side as described above is measured from the fret at the body joint to the corner of the bridge. I believe that the actual linear distance would be a little less.
