Hey All,

I'm happier than flea on a dogs butt about how this turned out. The sound is kick-ass too btw and it weighs about half of what my StingRay does.

YeeHa! When's my next gig?

New and Improved. Same Low Price.

Ellie's becoming some sort of 'Uber Mentor'! It must have nearly killed her when you did the blue burst.

Nice work! Big amp!

Cool guitar.

Soon, Ellie will have her own school, with Alma Mater, degrees, school songs and alumni meetings!

Bayou Guitar - maker of fine telethings

... Thanks a million to Ellie Erickson for hand holding in the fabrication of beauty.

How you get so much done while holding hands is beyond me...

Nice axe, though.

Nice tele bass Robin! I'd love to see more pictures. I wasn't sure how those 5 string bass pickups would look on a four string but they look good. (If your short on cash just send me the bass)

Are those black strings?

We are seeing lots of alumni of the Erickson sawdust school. Between these and Steve Benfords work Wisconsin is becoming the Freaky guitar capitol of the world!

Yeah, nice bass. More pics please.

What I lack in speed, I make up for in sloppiness...

Great looking bass!

It looks lots better than it appears in the photos, I'll see about having Robin bring it over for more photos. He and I are also each building slightly different Weber Tube amp kits. Robin's a really good drummer in a local band called The Motor Primitives, and plays in two other bands besides. He's a fast learner, too, needing lots less help than he makes it sound like.

I just remembered that he sent me an in progress shot while we were discussing his pickups.

HA! Can't get away from Ellie's slick goldtop can you?

Yes, those are black strings. Coated DRs. Cost ten bucks more than Boomers, but supposed to last "three times as long." We'll see about that. Remember the cryo-strings? Please pay for these because they were frozen before we shipped them to you. I can freeze strings in my backyard! Maybe I should go back to cat gut.

Big amp indeed! MUST HAVE MORE POWER! If I can move more air than the PA then I'm happy.

I'll try to get some more pics post-haste. That bass-boat blue is tough to shoot. All those glittery flakes bouncing back into the lens–it's blinding!

Actually, it's not a gold top. Unlike expensive factory guitars, my

whole

instrument is covered in real gold leaf, not sprayed bronze paint.

Just a minor detail, but hey, that's what makes things work in the end, when you pile enough of them into one effort.

I don't have a solution.... but I do admire the problem.

Robin- DR also has red and blue coated strings. Get a set of each and you can change your look with your mood!

Do you have a chin strap on your hat so it doesn't blow off when you stand in front of those cabs?

Brandon, Greg - 01/27/2006.19:01:34

How does it balance with the amp stuck to it? I'm confused from the first two photos, is the amp on the front or back?
