Another ? guys.Anyone got any suggestions for cases for a lap steel. Even cases meant for something else like a archery case. What would work pretty good? Thanks

New and Improved. Same Low Price.

I've seen archery cases used before and I recently made one from a take-down shotgun case.

It's fun to walk into a club carrying a rectangular camo case.

Making a rectangular hard case for a lap steel is a breeze. It's just a ply or Masonite box with softwood perimeter frame. I line mine with 'fake fur', cover them with cheap tweed-type fabric, and get all the case fittings fom my local hardware shop. Usually takes me a day's work to make one. I much prefer to have a hard case when I'm slinging gear int the back of the car, even for something rugged like a lap steel.

I just throw my lap steels into a regular guitar gig bag these days. Yeah, part of the case flops around, but I like the shoulder straps, and when you're taking three or four instruments into a club, I feel better about being able to carry all of them at once, instead of leaving some out in the loading dock or alley to sprout wings and fly away.

How about a small keyboard gig bag?

Thanks, I'll try to see about one of these.I maybe running short on time to build one so, I might look into a archery case since it is hard shelled.

If it's not too big, you could put it into one of those fully enclosed tennis racquet carrying bag things.
