Greetings all. I've been registered here for several years and am just getting around to posting for the first time. I have always found this forum to be inhabited by some truly impressive luthiers, professional and amateur alike.
Through the years I've been trying to develop my own sense of style. Of course, I'm still borrowing bits and pieces from those I look up to. Here are a couple pics of my current build. It is braced rather heavily as I'm planning to sink one or two humbuckers in the top. This will be my main gigging guitar. Thanks for looking.

Very nice. I especially like the soundholes. I don't typically go in for "modern" looking designs, but these look right to me.

Hi, Aaron. I'm no expert on archtops, but I like the way yours is coming along. The visual design elements really speak to me. If this had been mine, I probably would have narrowed the headstock flare a bit. But it's not mine, it's yours, and you only need to please yourself. The art deco-ish ziggurot of the headstock works real well with the sound hole shape to my eyes. Just be sure the string paths to the tuner posts won't foul each other with that wide spread. I couldn't begin to advise you on how to brace this baby, etc. But as a career visual designer, I feel more than qualified to give you a couple of thumbs up for the visual elements of this instrument. It won't be everyone's cup of tea and it doesn't need to be, but I like it a lot. And nothing does it for me like a beautiful archtop guitar. Press on, and keep us updated!
Patrick

Thanks for the comments, fellas. I really like the sound holes. The fact that anyone else likes them is icing on the cake. Since I build for my own satisfaction I like to mix things up visually, but not to the point of having several seemingly random ideas at play on the same instrument. So, the continuing challenge will be to tie in the remaining elements: finger rest, tailpiece, finish, etc. I've got some ideas but, nothing finalized yet. I'll post pics when it's all done.

Patrick. The string paths should not be a problem as I've used this shape in the past.
