elevated fingerboard

Does anyone have a tutorial on how to build an elevated fingerboard or cantilivered neck?

Mick Lazar did a nice tutorial that originally appeared on Mario DaCosta's luthierforum.com site. I don't know if mario's site is still in existence, since he passed. Mick's design is derived from Byer's double fan lattice (all wood). Tooling up for such a build is work - much more time building jigs than guitar for the first one.

Classical guitar, BTW - you didn't say what flavor you were interested in. This one has a Spanish heel and may not be that useful a process if you are talking about steel strings.

THanks guys! I'll be building that into my next few guitars.

Btw, not to derail this thread-- do you think this would adversely affect the sound on a flamenco guitar?
Should I start a new thread?
