Help Identifying This Guitar?

Post by Michael Baresi »

Does anyone recognize this guitar? The best clue is probably the headstock but no identifying labels or sn.
The top back and soundhole all have real binding not painted.
The top appears to be solid spruce.
Back and sides are probably laminate but I'm not sure yet.
Tuners are not original.
Top seems to have been stained
Judging from the old style dot pattern on the fretboard I'm guessing 1960's or older.
Can anyone offer insight?

looks a little bit like a Kay "Lyra" but the headstock is different and the pickguard screws aren't in the same places.

Yeh the first thing I thought is Kay but you're right the headstock doesn't match.
