About Cornettos and Serpents

Post by Luis Silva »

Hi everybody. I'm a new user from Spain. I'm glad to be here.

Here is my first question:

I 've download the famous Excell spreadsheet for the Cornetto's fingerholes placement. The problem is that i got no idea of how to use it. Can anybody help me?

Thank you

Welcome to the Forum, Luis!

Charlie's e-mail is given on the Freeware tab. You might try contacting him directly.

The values you can edit are shown in blue on the Summary page. J6 is the desired base pitch. A=220 Hz in this case. C3 appears to be the inner diameter of bore at the open end in meters and C4 is the thickness of the wall (outer diameter - inner diameter) in meters. C6-16 are the distances from hole to hole, or end to hole for the first hole. The adjacent B column gives the cumulative distances from the end of the bore in meters. D7-15 are the diameter of each of the finger holes in meters. I hope that will get you started.
