If you have a string instrument of any kind that needs fixing, a mistake you made in building a new instrument that you need to "disappear," or a question about the ethics of altering an older instrument, ask here. Neck reset 12 string maderira

Post by Thomas W. Felty »

Has anyone reset the neck on a Madeira 12 string? It was Guilds import model from Japan. I was wondering if it has a bolt on neck with a tenon or not with a tenon. I remember some of the guitars from Japan had 1 bolt and a couple of dowels to hold the neck in place.
Thanks,
Thomas

I would say that guitar probably has a dovetailed neck joint. That's my guess anyway! Let's see what some of the others say.
