Cedar and flamed birch completed
Finally completed this guitar, the second one that I had been building over the winter. Chocolate coloured cedar top, flamed birch body, curly shedua neck, ebony finger board and bridge. Scale length is 25 1/4”. Internal JJB-ELECTRONICS surface mount pickup. Guitar has an access port at the tail end which, when opened, allows a hand and forearm to reach inside the body.

Very nice.
I need your help. I can't possibly make all the mistakes myself!

Indeed.
Is there any different in sound by the use of f-holes on a flat top?

Thanks for the kind words.
Smarter people than me have written volumes about the effect of sound hole size and location on the sound of an acoustic guitar. If you could build an identical guitar with a more “traditional” sound hole, I suppose you might hear a different colouration of the sound. What I can tell you is that this one sounds very nice to my ear. A warm, mellow tone with a pretty strong bottom end.Beate Ritzert wrote:Is there any different in sound by the use of f-holes on a flat top?
