How to add a photo (or sound clip) to your post

First, we allow photo attachments (file types like .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .gif) and sound clips (.mp3). The file size for photos must be < 150k and the file size for .mp3 clips must be < 200k. You can have multiple files attached to a single post. Please (per our Policy) do not upload copyrighted photos, they will be deleted by the staff.

If your photo file size is too big, you must reduce it prior to adding it to your message. There are a bunch of ways to do this, here are a few: For audio files, you'll just have to truncate your file with something like Audacity. We intentionally keep this small/short to avoid copyright issues.

Now that we have our file(s) sized correctly, we start a new post by clicking on "New Topic" or "Post Reply" (full edit mode) (note that the "Quick Reply" method does not allow you to add attachments).

Below the message entry box, you will see some tabs, "Options", "Attachment" and possibly "Poll creation":

Click on the "Attachments" tab and you will see something like this:

Click on the "Add files" to get the attachment ready to post.

Browse to locate the file(s) you want to add (note that you can add multiple file at a time).

If you have multiple files, you can repeat the last two steps to add them. The files will be listed in the "Posted Attachments" area beneath the message box.

Now we need to put the picture in our message- it will be placed at the location of your cursor.

When you have your cursor positioned, click "Place inline". If you have multiple attachments, be sure to click the correct one.

You can use "cut and paste" to move the attachment around in your message.
You may add comments to your photos by putting text in the "File comment" box in the "Posted Attachments" area- these will show up like a caption beneath your photo (in light gray italics). Click "Preview" to check your work.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please send a PM to one of the staff members.
