RIP Earl Scruggs

Title sort of says it all. He was 88 and played a *mean* banjo.

I was just thinking of Earl this morning. I'll practice Scruggs rolling in his honor tonight.

Guess I missed the edit window. Meant to add that his music and style were a huge influence on me many years ago when I discovered bluegrass and started playing the banjo.

I remember listening to Earl and Lester many times with my Dad over the years. Their music gave us a lot of pleasure and inspired my Dad to buy a banjo that I still have. RIP, Earl Scruggs.

Netflix has the 1950's Flat and Scruggs tv show available for instant viewing. It's wonderful.

Very talented performer. He brought popularity to a genre that wasn't given much respect in mainstream. RIP, Earl.

My first introduction to Flatt and Scruggs was their appearances on the Beverly Hillbillies. Some great music that will live on.
