Wiring for a novice

Post by Seth Ellis »

Greetings, I'm helping a student finish a guitar, but I'm an acoustic guy and have only a little knowledge of wiring electronics. (I can solder). Can you help us figure out what goes where? He bought used pickups from ebay in a HB/S/S configuration. Here's the guitar and a picture of the electronics.

Go here http://www.seymourduncan.com/wiring-diagrams and make your selections

You should come out with something like this: https://docs.google.com/gview?embedded= ... _1V_1T.pdf

It seems to default to a single coil sized humbucker, but it's the same for a full sized one. Your pickup also does not have split coils, so you can ignore the red and white lead connection.

Your switch is the "import type", so you can go here to see how to wire it. http://alloutput.com/guitar/5-way-switches-explained/

If any problems, let us know.
Maybe I can't fix it, but I can fix it so no one can fix it
